![]() Here's the biggest and most obvious difference (other than the dial?!?!?) the 312 is noticeably heavier and when viewed from the side noticeably thicker than the 1312. In the light it looks more like the 312 has white stitching and the 1312 has a slight off-white stitch. ![]() On its own I don't think you'd really notice this but holding both my preference would have been to not have it and leave the face less cluttered with words.Įven holding both side by side you really had to be looking at the stitch work to notice a very slight difference. I really like that touch - was already thinking black strap with blue stitching!!! The 1312 also has "automatic" under the Panerai which the 312 does not. The 1312 has a blue small second hand which is much more subtle in the flesh than the photos make out. In both the artificial light of the shop and the street light there wasn't as big a difference in the color as I thought there would be. 312 has green Arabic numerals / markers whereas the 1312 has ecru numerals / markers. Obviously it was just an illusion but the 1312 seemed to wear a tiny bit smaller but neither over powered my wrist which is 6 3/4"īoth black sandwich dials. Identical - both 44mm and brushed finish in 316L stainless. I got lucky this w/e when I walked into my local AD and they happened to have both so I thought I'd pass on a few, non-technical thoughts on the two watches seeing as I hand them both on my wrist and in my sticky paws for 20-30 mins!! ![]() I'm in the market for my first Panerai and have landed on a 312 or 1312. ![]()
